What is the fur of a bengal cat like? Does a Bengal cat's hair fall out? Is the Bengal cat hypoallergenic?

What Is Bengal Cat Hair Like?

The Bengal cat’s fur is dense and soft. It has a brighter coat compared to domestic cats. It has brown-colored, speckled, or striped patterns called marble. Thanks to solid colors such as cream and light brown on the chin, chest, abdomen, and legs, it creates contrast with the colors on the back and sides of the body.

Although the color and pattern most associated with Bengal cats are the brown species covered with rosette-like spots, this breed comes with a variety of fur patterns and colors. The International Cat Association (TICA) accepts multiple Bengal shades. Its brown, silver, and white fur are covered with mottled like leopards or stripes like stripes on marble.

Bengal cats are advertised by some manufacturers as “hypoallergenic cats“, meaning non-allergenic because they shed very little. If you are allergic to cats and the reason you consider choosing this breed is that you think it is not allergic, then I have bad news for you. They are said to produce much lower levels of allergens than other domestic cats, but this claim is still not scientifically proven. No such thing as a hypoallergenic cat is possible says cat geneticist Leslie Lyons, who runs the Laboratory for Felines and Comparative Genetics at the University of Missouri.

In the process of breeding Bengal, the Cashmere Bengal, a medium-long-haired Bengal cat species, emerged. Some Bengal cats used in production can carry the long-hair recessive gene. Long-haired Bengals can be obtained when both males and females carry this recessive gene.
